Communication in
its essence is a bridge that connects and
builds community –but does it?
How often do you
end up feeling disconnected, within yourself, and with others;
unsatisfied with the interaction and
the outcome?
In this workshop
we will learn how to:
• Cultivate
the ability for empathic connection with self and others
• Hear the
needs behind anyone's behavior,
in hostile and challenging situations
• Differentiate
between language that alienates,
and language that connects
• Break
patterns of thinking that lead to anger
and hostility or non-engagement
• Return
"power" to its rightful place of 'power with'
others, and not 'power over' others.
• Take
responsibility for our choices
This work is based
on Dr Marshall Rosenberg's model of Nonviolent Communication
that has been
developed over the last 40 years, and is now used worldwide in personal
and
family life, in organizational life, in peacemaking, and conflict
transformation.
